Shamanism,
Dying & Beyond

An Advanced Weekend Workshop
with Beth Beurkens, M.A.

Las Vegas, Nevada
Saturday, April 2, 2011 - 10AM - 5:30PM
Sunday, April 3, 2011 - 9:30 AM - 5PM

Course Description: Participants learn how to deal with the issue of dying and the destiny of souls from a shamanic perspective. The workshop is both for those who wish to learn for themselves, and for those who wish to help others who are in terminal situations or who have already passed on. Experiences to be undertaken include learning how to become experientially familiar with the after-death realms, tracking a person using shamanic journeying, completing unfinished business, helping a person to cross over, and classic psychopomp work.

About the Instructor: Beth Beurkens, M.A. is a shamanic practitioner and has been a teacher of shamanism for 20 years and a vision quest guide for 20 years. She has been a college instructor of religion and spirituality for 31 years and is the author of "Shaman's Eye" and Shaman: Spirit Walker, 2011 Wall Calendar. Beth leads dynamic life-changing seminars on the West Coast and in Europe and has a shamanic healing practice in Ashland, Oregon and Europe. Beth has studied extensively with Michael Harner, Alicia Luengas Gates and Sandra Ingerman. She is an instructor at the Rogue Community College, the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and a creative writing teacher.

Location: Many travelers are drawn to the lights and excitement of Las Vegas, but few are aware of the wonders of Mother Nature that surround them. Rugged mountains, red rock canyons and deep desert valleys offer stunning scenery and myriad outdoor recreational opportunities. The region's favorable climate makes outdoor activity around Las Vegas an attractive option year-round.

Red Rock Canyon - Just 15 miles outside of Las Vegas is Red Rock Canyon. A large patch of native, brilliant red sandstone makes this unique, natural sightseeing spot. You often see desert wildlife including burros, wild horses and bighorn sheep wandering amidst the washes, Joshua Trees and numerous small canyons once inhabited by ancient Indian tribes. It provides a number of places for rock climbing, 4-wheel driving, hiking and spectacular views along the 8 mile scenic loop which is readily accessible by car or bicycle.

A full coffee and tea service will be provided on our morning and afternoon breaks.
